Hey Y’all! Are you shopping Lowes for Black Friday? Need to do home repairs? Need new appliances? I have an awesome double dip that can save you BIG money!

Last year, I bought all the appliances for my kitchen renovation on the Black Friday sale at Lowes. I purchased a cooktop, double wall ovens, a huge refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave range hood, and a disposal. In all it was a package worth over $7,000. After the sales, the final cost was about $5,200. My out of pocket was only about $4,500!!!! So I only spent about 35%!

Thanksgiving Day, Dollar General has a promotion for 15% off Lowes gift cards. This seems like it doesn’t amount to much, but if you buy a $500 gift card, your out of pocket will be $425! That is a savings of $75! Couple that with the sales and you can save a decent chunk. If you are like me and have to buy them anyway, this can really help stretch your dollar even further!

Now, how did I use this promotion on my kitchen appliance package last year? I bought $5,300 in gift cards (my total and a bit to cover the taxes), paid $4,505, and saved about $800! I had saved $5K hoping to get the bare necessities but ended up being able to get everything for my dream kitchen instead.

So, let’s look at an example:

For this nice Whirlpool Appliance Package, the price shows as $2,016. You will buy 4 $500 gift cards, and then I suggest getting a $200 to help cover taxes. You will pay $425 for each of the $500 cards, and $170 for the $200. Making your out of pocket actually $1,870 and that should take care of the bulk of your taxes! That saves you about $200!

Need a washer and dryer? Check out this Whirlpool Set! Final price before taxes will be $1,197.52. Get 2 gift cards at $500 and one at $300. You will pay $425 for each of your $500 and $255 for the $300. This will also cover taxes in most states. Your out of pocket will be $1,105 which will save you about $176!!! That is one heck of a coupon!
