Air Fryer Recall

We all love air fryers and many of us have them or buy them as gifts for others. Sometimes items are recalled for safety reasons though. Right now there is a recall on air fryers purchased from Amazon. I have put together all the information in this post for you and will link to the recall notification also.

6,400 Secura air fryers, sold on Amazon have be recalled voluntarily due to potential burn and overheating issues. In the recall it is stated that a “wire connection” in the air fryer can “overheat and poses a fire and burn hazard”.

There have been nine reports of these devices catching fire, smoking and burning but no injuries are reported.

“We are voluntarily recalling specific date codes of our:

  • TXG-DS16 (SAF-53) and SAF-53D (TXG-DT16E) air fryers

  • This recall includes only TXG-DS16 (SAF-53) with date codes 1903 and 1904, and SAF-53D

  • (TXG-DT16E) with date code 1901."

Customers who purchased these products online at thesecura.com and Amazon.com from May 2019 through October 2020 are advised to stop use immediately.

To get a refund or replace the unit, you can contact Secura for an Amazon gift card in the amount of $45 or a free replacement of choice on the company’s website

You must provide your contact information and submit photos of the recalled unit. Photos must include the unit's power cord cut off and must display the product's date code located on the button.
